Canon PowerShot A1200 – Inexpensive But Effective

thumbnail
Canon almost had abandoned optical viewfinders from its PowerShot cameras; the only that we recall had one was the high-end G12, but all that changed at the CES 2011, when the company announced their all new Canon PowerShot A1200, which was an entry-level point-and-shoot camera having a real-image zoom viewfinder. In addition to the viewfinder the Canon PowerShot A1200 comes with a 12 megapixel and AA-sized batteries. There also is a wide range of shooting options and makes use of an f2.8 28mm-equivalent wide-angle lens having a 4x zoom, and can also capture movie clips in 720 HD-resolution. Just as most of the camera of this price range, the Canon PowerShot  [...]

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W570 – Lightweight Compact Camera

thumbnail
We all liked the Cyber-Shot W350 from Sony, and if you have liked that ultra-compact camera, you surely will love the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W570. Sony has not changed a lot of things for the Cyber-shot DSC-W570 except for the increase in the Megapixels from 14 to 16, and introducing a tad brighter, longer and wider lens, while keeping the body almost of the same size and weight. The camera still has the same shooting options that we saw in the Sony W350's, so the only reason one should consider is camera is its higher resolution and the wider lens. But at the same time, the starting price for the camera has also come down by $20, which makes it a sweeter deal for the users who don’t have a W350. The small Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W570 is capable of delivering attractive movies and photos as well, thanks to the superb color  [...]

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H70 – A Fantastic Basic Compact Megazoom

thumbnail
The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H70 is a 16 megapixel camera from Sony and is the least expensive in the entire range of compact megazooms from Sony for the model year 2011. Also the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H70 offers a tad resolution bump from 2010's DSC-H55 14-megapixel camera, which it will be replacing in the market. But the sad thing here is that, the bump in resolution of the camera doesn’t make the photos any better and they aren’t usable for cropping or enlargements. Although, they aren’t all that bad, either; the H55 which is replaced by the H70 delivered really great quality photos, especially under ISO 100, and so is the case with the H70. The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H70 carries the same slow performance from the H55, which probably could be the biggest reason why this camera could be frustrating for some customers, especially if you are shooting moving subjects. Apart from this, the camera on a whole is rather good, thanks to a huge LCD of the camera, a  [...]
