Razzle Dazzle:
The all new Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR is almost identical to the FinePix F60fd, in terms of design and control layout, except for the fact that Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR is a tad smaller than the F60fd. But the small size here has been attained without making any significant trimmings or sacrifices and the camera feels well constructed anyways. Located right in front of the camera is the camera lens with 28mm wide-angle and a 5x zoom, which is standard for the compact cameras of this class. The same is the case with the 3-inch LCD positioned on the rear end of the camera, and it’s decently bright and sufficiently sized. The overall design of the camera is pretty decent and the camera in general is a decent option for the general household users with a wide variety of use.
Inside Dope:
The latest advancement in camera sensors the Fujifilm Super CCD EXR made its debut with the all new FinePix F200EXR 12 megapixel compact. Without going deep into the Fujifilm Super CCD EXR censor we will explain you it in simple words that the Fujifilm Super CCD EXR censor is for enhancing the low-light performance and dynamic range for the point-and-shoot cameras in the market. The reason behind this is the poor performance of the point-and-shoot cameras in these two departments. But this also comes at the cost of resolution and to be very precise the resolution for F200EXR has been compromised, but the design makes up for it and delivers pretty good in both the accounts. In addition the simple usability and feature set of F200EXR makes it just the ideal camera for household shooters.

The control layout and design of F200EXR is similar to FinePix F60fd, though the F200EXR is comparatively smaller in size and feels very well constructed. Locate at the façade of the camera is a lens with 28mm wide-angle and a 5x zoom, this is becoming standard for the camera of this size and so is the case with the 3 inch LCD screen, which is sufficient bright and of fine quality. Positioned at the top right of the LCD is the shooting Mode Dial, which moves a little too liberally and instead of sitting outside the body, we would have appreciated it sunken inside the body.
That said, the menu of the camera can easily be frustrating at times, but once you have understood them they are rather simple. Positioned underneath the mode dial is the F-mode button which brings up the shooting option menu for the specific mode you are in. All the other standard camera controls like light metering, shooting priority, continuous options, AF mode and image stabilization are positioned under the main menu system, which can be reached with a press at the OK/Menu button positioned at the center of the directional pad.

The performance of Fujifilm F200EXR, can easily depress some of its buyers as the camera takes 2.7 seconds to get ready for its first shot from a completely off stage. The performance for rest of conditions is mere acceptable with 0.5 seconds of shutter lag in bright lightening conditions. In terms of quality also the camera is just acceptable with the pictures taken above ISO 400 showing apparent noise and distortion. In general the FinePix F200EXR is a pretty good 12-megapixel compact camera with plethora of shooting options.
Nitty Gritty:
Don’t get scared with the new Fujifilm censor, the Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR actually is a pretty good compact camera with plenty of shooting features for every type of shooter.
