Fujifilm’s 3D Camera – Amusing But Expensive

Despite the fact that the 3D movies are suffering from some kind of backlash in the market, the technology vendors are still working towards pushing the 3D content forward. The modern technology vendors are working to compel the modern consumers that the 3D technology in comparison to the 2D technology is what the talkies were in comparison to silent films. The 3D products are entering the market on a regular basis and the latest 3D product among them all to hot the market is Fujifilm’s new FinePix Real 3D W3 digital camera. The FinePix Real 3D W3 basically is a point-and-shoot camera, which lets you capture both videos and photos in 3D. The FinePix Real 3D W3 is expected to enter the market in early September.

We were lucky enough to get our hands on the camera even before in enters the market, and we spend some time with the W3 at one of Fujifilm’s press event. After spending some time with the camera we came to know that although the camera definitely is not cheap, and has only 3X optical zoom, the camera still is a lot of fun. The FinePix Real 3D W3 has been priced $500 for the consumers and surely will not be for all the point-and-shoot camera shoppers.

The camera offers its 3D shooting using its two separate 35mm-105mm lenses, in combination with the two 10-megapixel CCD sensors. Capturing the 3D photo at the very basic level is not all that hard here: all you have to do is to make sure that the LED positioned just next to the 3D button is lit, you are with in six feet close to the subject and that you have pointed the camera at the subject. It’s very important that you are within six feet close to the subject or else the 3D will not work. Even capturing a video is not at all a big deal: Just click the video button of the camera and press the shutter button.

The one thing that we can say about the FinePix Real 3D W3 is that these cameras definitely is fun, but not inexpensive and if you are going to buy this camera make sure that you have a 3D TV where you will be watching all your 3D photos and videos.
