Sony announced a new line up of Bloggie pocket camcorders but they didn’t do to well in the market. Now the company is back with a touch screen which gives a good solid first impression. It will have a three inch capacitive touch screen in a aluminum body. For internal storage, you have options of four GB or eight GB. It has a 1080p sensor which should give good quality videos. There is also a 12.8 megapixel sensor for talking stills. It comes with F2.8 wide angle lens and also a Exmor CMOS sensor. There is HDMI output and built in USB connector. Our sources tell us that Toshiba is going to launch new Camileo pocket HD camcorders at the IFA and the most intriguing part about it is the three inch touchscreen. Such small camcorders are not known to have touch screens and hence it will be interstesting to see how they do in the market. Both give you video recording at resolution of 1080p but don’t expect the quality to be as good as full fledged camcorders. There is also a 10x digital zoom along with HDMI out. Canon has brought two new camcorders, the Canon XF105 and Canon XF100, using the all new Canon XF codec earlier this year. Both the camcorders make use of the same codec that we’ve seen in Canon XF300 and XF305, which debuted at NAB. The Canon XF Codec is an MPEG-2 4:2:2 50 Mbps codec, which delivers complete NLE compatibility, a vigorous workflow and high-definition image quality. Both the camcorders comes with the features which lets them to record 3D content when you pair the two camcorders and both the models record to Compact Flash (CF) cards. Some times in order to gain something extraordinary people forget to do very simple things that definitely would have made a huge difference. One fine example of this is the all new Samsung PL90 digital camera which has such and obvious design that it hurts really that no one else thought of it earlier. Nikon announced on Thursday that it would make an entry level dSLR which can record video with continuous focus. The Nikon D3100 D-SLR is the successor to D3000, last year’s entry level camera from this company. the D3100 has continuous auto-focus, special HD video recording feature that no other DSLR has offered to date. Till today, the dSLRs could just auto-focus on command but it was quite slot because the processor of the camera had to capture the image info, save and display it on the screen and also auto-focus. The D3100 will be carrying a Expeed 2, a new image processor which can accomplish this easily. But the company didn’t give any specific information about the processor or clock speed. The D3100’s autofocus feature is similar to that of a camcorder but we expect some limitations here because the lens noise will be audible when you refocus or zoom in and out. Professionals these days are dumping the expensive and bulky camcorders for the dSLRs and the one big hurdle here has now been removed. The focus puller has been removed and you just have to touch the focus ring for focusing. The follow focus system is now mechanical and you can alter the focus by just moving your finger through the wheel. This can be used for functions like changing the focus and aperture or zoom settings in al the dSLR having 14mm to 600mm lens. But the company hasn’t revealed details about the price yet. We really like this since it will eliminate any shake that may occur from traditional focus system. To further help this cause, there are lots of rubber belt sizes for diameters of various lens. We have seen a couple of camcorders featuring built in pico projector but this is the first time that we have seen a camcorder feature a removable pico projector. It gives WVGA image at 15 lumens. Apart from that, the camcorder offers a useful set of features like 1080p video recording, three inch touch screen display, 10x optical zoom, SD/SDHC memory card slot for storing additional memory.
