thumbnail
The Kodak EasyShare M381 is available in blue-gray, black and red colors. It is small enough to fit in a small handbag or pants pocket. The plastic controls feels cheap, however, the camera body is nice and comfortable to use. Shutter Button, Mode Dial, Power Button and Flash Buttons are located on the top whereas Zoom, Info, Review, Menu, Share, Delete and Five-way controller buttons are at the back of the camera. Kodak has made menus appealing, user friendly and you can easily navigate on this Kodak M381. The shooting options are not obscure. The Kodak has introduced a help button to show the description for each feature for helping us to take the pictures effectively. Cameras from different companies with better features and same price range are also available in the market. M381 has only electronic blur reduction but it did not have optical or mechanical image stabilization. The lens is narrow, whereas, cameras with wide-angle lenses are available  [...]

Kodak EasyShare Z950 – Not for the impatient shooter

thumbnail
This is a fairly simple and straightforward camera by Kodak and the manufacturer has given us a simple device rather than putting convoluted features that would confuse a newbie. The best feature on the camera is the inclusion of 35mm-equivalent lens along with a 10x zoom and yet Kodak has managed to keep the body compact. You get semimanual and manual controls and there are no outlandish options for shooting. We liked the performance of the camera and for the given price; this device seems to be a good buy. Image-stabilized 10x zoom lens is the main attraction of the camera. It is not fast or wide, but you can get close to your subject with it. On the top of the device, there is zoom ring and shutter release, dedicated keys for timer/drive and flash, mode dial and a tiny power button. Icons for mode position, timer and flash are backlight which makes it usable even in the dark. The HD marking button is also red lit. The LCD behind the camera is  [...]

Kodak Zx1 HD Pocket Video Camera – improved version of the previous Zi6

thumbnail
This camcorder from Kodak is the successor to the Zi6 which was also a HD minicamcorder. It had a fairly big LCD screen and a decent video quality. Zx1 follows on the same footsteps but this camera has a rugged exterior and it can stand rough use. Though billed as an HD camcorder, the Zx1 cannot take full HD 1080p resolution videos and all you get is 720p. That said; don’t expect the quality to be anywhere near full-fledged camcorders. Just like the Zi6, the Zxi has the same 1/4.5-inch 1.6-megapixel sensor. Kodak told us that the processor has been upgraded in this model which gives a faster performance. The size of the LCD has been reduced from 2.4 inches in Zi6 to 2 inches in this one. The Zx1 is powered by 2 AA sized batteries which add to the weight of the mini-camcorder. Kodak bundles rechargeable NiMH batteries and a charger in the package. You cannot charge the battery from the USB cord, you will have to put them in a charger  [...]

Kodak EasyShare Z915 – small screen mega zoom camera

thumbnail
Mega zoom cameras are a step above point and shoot cameras and one step below the SLRs. The latter are for professional photographers or camera enthusiasts where as the point and shoot devices are for newbies who just don’t care much about the quality, all they want is to keep a collection of pictures of their friends. When it comes to mega zoom cameras the Kodak EasyShare Z915 is got a great feature set including fully automatic and fully manual shooting options. But it is still kept simple, user friendly and has a fast performance. Kodak EasyShare Z915 lets you get extremely close to your subjects owing to the 10x zoom lens. On the top of the camera, there is zoom ring and shutter release, buttons for timer/drive, macro and flash, power button (which is tiny) and mode dial. Behind the device there is a small LCD, which has been deliberately trimmed down in size to cut costs and there are buttons for Play, Info, Menu and Delete.  [...]

Kodak Zi8 Pocket Video Camera -Black – A Great Pocket Camcorder

thumbnail
Pocket camcorders have become popular now since the full fledged camcorders are big and hence a bit difficult to carry. Also these pocket camcorders have been getting better and they now have the basic features for recording video and hence great option for people who don’t want those big camcorders. Now in pocket camcorders, Flip Video managed to remain on the top till now because there were no products as good as Flip Video that was until we got Kodak Zi8 Pocket Video Camera in our test centers. We were glad to find features like external mic support, electronic image stabilization and not to mention the great video quality. Zi6 had AA NiMH rechargeable batteries, this device has lithium ion rechargeable battery and we think this is the reason behind its slim body. You can charge the device through AC adapter or USB cord both of which are provided. The camcorder can record full HD videos but don’t expect the quality to be anywhere near the full  [...]
