Canon Brings Two New Camcorders

Canon has brought two new camcorders, the Canon XF105 and Canon XF100, using the all new Canon XF codec earlier this year.

Both the camcorders make use of the same codec that we’ve seen in Canon XF300 and XF305, which debuted at NAB. The Canon XF Codec is an MPEG-2 4:2:2 50 Mbps codec, which delivers complete NLE compatibility, a vigorous workflow and high-definition image quality. Both the camcorders comes with the features which lets them to record 3D content when you pair the two camcorders and both the models record to Compact Flash (CF) cards. The only difference between the two camcorders is that the Canon XF105 comes with gunlock in/SMPTE timecode (in/out) terminals and an industry-standard HD-SDI output. Canon is promoting these camcorders for doc, ENG, Independent filmmaking and for event videography.

New Canon Camcorders

The Canon XF100 and XF105 Professional Camcorders come loaded with a Genuine Canon 10x HD Zoom lens for ocular performance and highest mobility. Both the model has a Canon designed and developed new Canon XF Codec for tremendous color detail necessary for precise chroma-keying, compositing for digital filmmaking and color grading. The camcorders also have native Full HD 1920 x 1080 CMOS image sensor.  To provide finer transitions in the color and tone, 4:2:2 color sampling offers twice the color resolution of other 4:2:0 formats and HDV.

For maximizing the adaptability of the camcorders across quite a few production surroundings, Canon camcorders are outfitted with the capability to record at numerous bit rates, uneven frame rates for fast and slow motion and resolutions. The company hasn’t announced any price details for the camcorders and all that we know about these two cameras is that they will be available in market in the first quarter of 2011.
