Sony Handycam DCR-SR68 – Shorter In Terms of Performance, Than HD Model

thumbnail
The Sony Handycam DCR-SR68 the hard drive based entry-level standard-definition camcorder by Sony. The camcorder comes with plethora of catchy features, but the some that caught our attention includes its big size Megazoom lens, reasonably small size and humongous storage capacity, but more than anything else the fact that all this comes at a price tag of $400 was the thing that got our attention. Even operating the DCR-SR68 is pretty easy, mentioned that you are familiar with the operation of digital cameras. Though, there is endless menu system for DCR-SR68, but there are not sufficient shooting options for the operators. Just like most of the other camcorders from its class the video quality result for the camera is pretty usual, particularly if you are planning to watch them on full screen large HDTV or if you are a high-definition content fanatic. The controls on the body of the DCR-SR68 include a button to switch between video and photo modes  [...]

Sony Handycam DCR-SR88 – A Little Sacrifice in Quality, a Huge Gain in Storage Space

thumbnail
The Sony Handycam DCR-SR88 is the standard definition entry level camcorder by Sony. The DCR-SR88 flaunts a small size, but despite its small size the camcorder offers plenty of useful features such as large storage capacity and huge Megazoom lens. But the most important thing that we liked here is that despite so many features the camera is reasonably pried well under $400. The operation of the camera is again pretty simple and despite the immeasurable menu systems in the camera, the operation is simple even for the first time users (mentioned that you are familiar with the operation of digital cameras). We won’t say that the DCR-SR88 delivers awful performance, but at the same time we can’t say that the performance here is exceptional. So to make things simpler lets put it in this way, the DCR-SR88 offers video quality just as you would get from any of the camcorder, and in a general the performance is good but if you watch it on HDTV it would  [...]

Fujifilm FinePix JZ500 – A Good Value Of Money Compact Megazoom

thumbnail
The Fujifilm FinePix JZ500 and Fujifilm FinePix JZ300 are Fujifilm’s effort to offer one and all something to cheer about. In their effort to make Fujifilm has tried real hard and while they have brought some interesting features, there are some irrelevant features as well. One of the interesting features that we found here is the 10x zoom wide angle lens. Consider the $249.95 price of Fujifilm FinePix JZ500, the feature set offered here is real great. But at the same time there are certain features that you will find irrelevant. The Fujifilm FinePix JZ500 and Fujifilm FinePix JZ300 is almost the same camera with the only difference being of resolution and color choices. The Fujifilm FinePix JZ500 is available only in black color, while there are color choices of silver and black for 12 megapixels JZ300 can. The controls on the camera are pretty basic and hence even the out of the box users won’t have any problems in operating the camera. Located  [...]

Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR – Good 12-Megapixel Compact Camera

thumbnail
The latest advancement in camera sensors the Fujifilm Super CCD EXR made its debut with the all new FinePix F200EXR 12 megapixel compact. Without going deep into the Fujifilm Super CCD EXR censor we will explain you it in simple words that the Fujifilm Super CCD EXR censor is for enhancing the low-light performance and dynamic range for the point-and-shoot cameras in the market. The reason behind this is the poor performance of the point-and-shoot cameras in these two departments. But this also comes at the cost of resolution and to be very precise the resolution for F200EXR has been compromised, but the design makes up for it and delivers pretty good in both the accounts. In addition the simple usability and feature set of F200EXR makes it just the ideal camera for household shooters. The control layout and design of F200EXR is similar to FinePix F60fd, though the F200EXR is comparatively smaller in size and feels very well constructed. Locate at  [...]

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W370 review – Reasonably Priced Compact Camera

thumbnail
The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W370’s has got a pretty imposing specifications-to-cost ratio on surface. The camera comes with a 7x zoom lens having resolution of 14 megapixels, the camera has a 3 inch LCD screen, ropes 720p HD movie capture and facilitating the easy connection of the camera to an HDTV, there is an HDMI output. But what makes this all even more enticing is the price tag around DSC-W370, and you easily can get all these for less than $230. The DSC-W370 actually is an update to 2009's outstanding W290 camera, but the camera has plenty of resemblance and similarity with 2010’s W350. We mentioned “imposing specifications-to-cost ratio” term above, because we still haven’t found that whether Sony has done a bit of trimmings and compromises in terms of features and performance, to bring the price down or not. The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W370 comes with Sony lens, out of the three lenses we know, starting from highest to lowest; Sony G, Carl  [...]

Panasonic Lumix DMC-G2 – Basic Yet Recommended

thumbnail
Panasonic predominantly is the primary camera manufacturer to market its camera with interchangeable-lens camera, but the early models from Panasonic has been a bit flawed. The same was the case with the recently launched Lumix DMC-G1; this reasonably priced camera didn’t have video capturing capability. But its successor the DMC-G2 gets over this deficiency and comes with video capturing capability. Apart from this the Panasonic G2 was also given the gift of a touch screen, which is the first for any of the interchangeable-lens consumer camera, together with dSLRs. The company not only has implemented this, but also has implemented it very well. Though, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G2 comes with a touchscreen, which lets you access several functions for instance metering and touch focus, but the camera also has plenty of physical controls, direct-access buttons and navigation controls for accessing different functions of the camera. The best thing about  [...]

Canon PowerShot SX210 IS – Good photo quality

thumbnail
The new ‘in’ thing for camera manufacturers these days seem to be putting a long zoom in a compact body. Canon PowerShot SX210 IS has a 14 megapixel resolution lens and it the quite compact with 28mm-equivalent wide-angle lens. This is the successor to the SX200 IS which we got in 2009, both the zoom range and resolution are upped the body is trimmed down so that it fits in the pocket easily. Controls are improved, as compared to its predecessor but there are a few quirks in the design which frustrated us on some occasions. The shooting speed is disappointing too. We will recommend you this camera if you don’t care much about the design or shooting speeds. Just like its predecessor, this camera too pops up the flash everytime you turn the camera on but this time, you can push it down if not needed. It is quite awkward to hold the camera if the flash is up because there is no place to put your fingers. The screen is bright enough but the resolution  [...]
